EXTRACTION

This is the first step in obtaining the stone. Huge machines are used here which through a screwing action spilt the powerful blocks of stone. One block of granite can weigh even 17,000,000 kilograms.

Many times stone is extracted from places where access is very difficult, such as for example, azul cielo marble, which is extracted from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea.

Blocks of stone obtained this way are then cut into slabs.
