EXHIBITION AT THE NATIONAL OPERA
Today, on the occasion of “Halka” at the Polish National Opera, I saw the exhibition of your sculptures and I am deeply moved by it. They are undoubtedly masterpieces of a world class. What is wonderful is the extraordinary sense of matter, the sensuality that permeates these so personal sculptures, and this great dialogue with the past.
The feeling of the body is amazing and the fact that even polished fragments are not dead areas, but become what you want to show – a tribute to human beauty. The overtly erotic sculptures are of great class and culture, and are never provocative. I envy you that you could touch these sculptures freely – they were created for this. (…) I just want to express my great admiration, inner agitation and joy, which restores faith in the meaning of art at a time when values such as aesthetics, craftmanship and beauty are often questioned. “
